What We Do

Warrington CVS supports the development of the voluntary sector

At Warrington CVS we see the voluntary community sector at the heart of a thriving and inclusive community.

It is the role of the CVS to support and enhance the work of local voluntary groups and organisations. We aim to help make their activities more effective and sustainable so that local people can benefit from the continuity of high level services and sound social, environmental and economic policies.

CVS offers a range of help and support to local community and voluntary groups. These include:

  • Keeping a comprehensive and up to date directory of information on groups and organisations.
  • Printing services.
  • Loans of display equipment.
  • A quarterly newsletter made available to everyone interested and involved in the voluntary sector.
  • Training programmes and courses.
  • Organising and servicing network and information exchange meetings.
  • Researching the local and national scene and finding out about new activity.
  • Developing new ventures and ideas.
  • Help and advice about getting funding.
  • Developing new ways of doing things so that local people can become interested and switched on to community activity.
  • Representation on behalf of the voluntary sector on a number of committees and groups.
