July 09 - Warrington CVS receives Awards for All Grant
Warrington CVS is pleased to announce that it has received £9,838 from the Big Lottery Fund - Awards for All Grant. The grant will enable Warrington CVS to update its computer systems, provide better equipment for it's valued volunteers, taking training further into the community and provide survey building facilities for local voluntary and community groups. The award will enable Warrington CVS to strengthen and continue its work with and for the voluntary and community sector in Warrington.
May 09 - Warrington Local Compact Launched
The revised Warrington Local Compact was launched at the Third Sector Partnership Assembly on Friday 15th May 2009. Members of the local VCS can sign the Local Compact at the Gateway from Tuesday 26th May onwards.

Feb 09 - Grassroots Grants now available to more Community Projects
The Government have increased the threshold that allows local, voluntary community projects to apply for the Grassroots Grants from the original income threshold of £20,000 to £30,000. For more information go to the Grassroots Endowment Fund News page
Feb 09 - Launch of Violence Against Women and Girls Consultation
The Government is launching this consultation to raise awareness, discussion and debate on how together we can end violence against women and girls. The purpose is to test policy proposals designed to:
• Prevent this violence
• Challenge attitudes that may uphold it
• Reduce women’s and girl’s fear of violence

Feb 09 - Local Compact Consultation
We are pleased to introduce you to the draft ‘Local Compact’ for Warrington’ which represents the collective commitment of the Warrington Partnership and the third sector in Warrington to work together for the benefit of the citizens of Warrington.
Warrington has a strong and vibrant third sector with over 22,000 volunteers as recorded in 2007. This Compact aims to acknowledge the contribution that the sector makes, and will continue to make.
The Local Compact is out for consultation from 26th January 2009 until Friday 17th April 2009, we would welcome your comments.

5th September 2008 - Warrington CVS Launches Warrington Grassroots Grants
Warrington CVS has launched its Grassroots Grants fund. Groups with an income of 20k or less a year can apply for up to 5k over 3 years. 22 May 2008 - Warrington CVS Awarded ISO 9001 Accreditation
The certificate was awarded on 22 May 2008 to Gwen Lightfoot, Quality Manager, after a full day's audit of CVS's work. Chief Executive, Nigel Bacon, said "We are delighted to receive this external recognition of the high quality standards to which we work".

5 March 2008 - Initial success for Advocacy
Warrington Advocacy has made a promising start with it's Domestic Violence Advocacy Project. Michaela Guest and Carol McAlea have been working hard and already have a busy caseload. The project looks to be a resounding success and is definitely filling a gap in the voluntary sector.
